  • What is Niobium?

Niobium is a chemical element (symbol Nb). It is a soft, grey metal that is naturally found in the minerals pyrochlore and columbite. Niobium is naturally hypoallergenic and commonly used in a number of medical devices including prosthetics and implants, such as pacemakers. Often used in jewelry making because of its hypoallergenic properties, this metal is a safe choice for anyone with metal allergies. Niobium is highly malleable, lightweight, highly resistant to corrosion, and hard. Additionally, when it is heated and anodized, it can result in a vast array of iridescent colors.

  • What is Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is a layered gold product made in the U.S. that is gaining popularity throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe. It is a quality material that is common in all types of jewelry. The product is easy to care for and will usually maintain its golden shine for a lifetime. Gold-filled is constructed in two or three layers. The core metal is jewelers’ brass. A gold alloy is then bonded to one or both surfaces of the brass core with heat and pressure. Unlike plated (aka electroplated or "dipped") metals, Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. This 5% is then described by the karat of the gold alloy. Our Gold-filled items are 14kt gold-filled. 14k Gold-filled products are identified as 14/20 Gold-filled; alternatively, 14kt Gold-Filled is also acceptable.

  • What is Eco Sterling Silver?

Eco Sterling Silver is metal made from recycled sterling silver scrap. We purchase this from 2 different American companies that guarantee and can authenticate their recycled silver.

  • How is Jovy Rockey Jewelry made?

Currently, our jewelry is produced using all cold forge methods. This means that we do not use any heat applications in the making of our jewelry. We use different tools such as pliers, mandrels, hammers, and jigs to make our designs. We also incorporate different cold connections such as wire wrapping and riveting in some of our designs.

  • Is Jovy Rockey Jewelry hypoallergenic?

All of our jewelry is nickel-free, which is the most common metal sensitivity. Those who feel they can only wear solid gold should have no issues with Gold-filled jewelry. Pieces that are made with Niobium are safe for anyone with metal sensitivities.

  • Do you do repairs?

We will only do repairs on Jovy Rockey Jewelry. If the repair is needed due to a fabrication defect and we will gladly repair your jewelry at no cost to you. However, you would be responsible for shipping to and from us. For repairs due to undue wear and tear or the occasional accident, there will be a charge. Costs for repairs vary on the type of repair needed. If you have an item that needs a repair, please email us at hello@jovyrockeyjewelry with photos of the item and tell us how the item was damaged. • Help! I lost my mate! Can you make a match for my earring?

Most of the time we can make a replacement for your lost earring mate. However, occasionally, we discontinue some gemstones and cannot make the mate. We do not make replacements for custom or one of a kind pieces. Please email us a photo of the earring that needs a match and we can let you know if we can help you out and what the cost will be.

  • Can I request a custom order?

We will do a variation of an existing design (shorter or longer version; a specific gemstone or bead) but we do not create completely new designs on request at this time. We cannot take your stone and make a bead to incorporate in a design.

  • Do you drill your own stones?

We do not do any sort of lapidary work. We purchase our gemstones from reputable wholesale sources.
